Introducing the student support model

The Deanery has a number of staff who have specific responsibilities relating to Student Support. Details of who we are, are listed below:-

All taught students have been assigned a Student Adviser to provide you with direct support throughout your time at the University.

Wellbeing advisers will work alongside your Student Adviser to provide a source of proactive and reactive support for your health and wellbeing throughout your time at University.

Your Cohort Lead is an academic member of staff who works alongside your Student Adviser and wider programme team to provide academic support and development.

Teaching teams include Lecturers, Course Organisers, Professional Mentors, Teaching Assistants and Tutors.

Within the Deanery of Clinical Sciences, Professional Mentors will only be allocated to students within the Dental Institute (on specific programmes).

Peer support activities can be a great way to engage with other students, at programme level and within the wider Deanery/ University. Peer support provides an opportunity to meet new people, discuss ideas and share knowledge.

The University provides a number of support services for students across its campuses as well as online.
