Two days of science and social activities in the Borders during Centre retreat. Image Presentations at CRM Retreat 2019 In October students and staff at the MRC Centre for Regenerative Medicine enjoyed two days of science and social activities in the Borders during the annual CRM Retreat. The retreat took place in Cardrona, surrounded by hills and golf courses. The retreat featured a series of excellent presentations by new group leaders, postdocs, and PhD students, an inspiring key note lecture by Prof Adrian Bird on the role of DNA and chromatin modifications in health and disease, and a panel discussion around the opportunities and challenges of translation of biomedical research to the clinic. Post dinner entertainment was a ceilidh, a typical Scottish event with live Gaelic folk music and traditional group dances. Many students and members of staff joined in and tried their hand (and feet) at a variety of jigs and reels. Image Ceilidh at CRM Retreat 2019 This article was published on 2024-08-22
