How to apply

To apply for a PhD, in the first instance you must send a curriculum vitae (CV) and a cover letter outlining your research interests to the Department Head, Professor Simpson.

We welcome research proposals from graduates in medicine, engineering or another relevant scientific discipline in the areas of:

  • bioengineering
  • cell biology
  • epidemiological and clinical topics

You should consult our current research projects for further details on our areas of interest before applying.

For some areas of research where you will be in close contact with patients, you will need to be registered with the General Medical Council (GMC).

Applying

To apply, send your CV and a covering letter with details of the projects you are interested in to the Head of Department via the Senior Secretary.
