About

We aim to develop novel approaches to engineering problems in orthopaedics.

The Edinburgh Orthopaedic Engineering Centre (EOEC), its sister institution the Musculoskeletal Tissue Engineering Collaboration (MTEC) and the clinical Department of Orthopaedics and Trauma all reside within the University.

EOEC was formed as a cross-link between the disciplines of engineering and medicine. It is an innovative multidisciplinary research and development organisation, focusing on clinical and scientific research and technological innovation.

Teaching is also an important part of our remit and the centre largely consists of undergraduates carrying out special modules and postgraduates undertaking masters and doctoral degrees.
