RCPE Scholarships

The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh offers several scholarships to the students on the MSc in Critical Care. Our Scholarships aim to enable talented individuals to undertake this exciting MSc programme.

Edinburgh-CCAA Scholarship Scheme

The University of Edinburgh and The Collaboration for Research, Implementation and Training in Critical care in Asia and Africa (CCAA) offer a limited number of scholarships to enable healthcare professionals from low- and middle-income countries in Asia and Africa to study on the MSc in Critical Care programme.

Each scholarship covers the cost of annual tuition fees for the MSc in Critical Care across each of the three-years of the programme.

This scholarship is available to potential students based in the following countries (nationality and current country of residence) who have received a conditional or unconditional offer to enrol in the University of Edinburgh's MSc in Critical Care.

Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Kenya, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, South Africa, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Vietnam.

The deadline for applications is 1st June 2025. Eligible and complete applications will be notified of success or failure by 30th June 2025.

To apply for the scholarship, you must have at least made an application for the MSc in Critical Care programme and have been issued at least a conditional offer at the time of scholarship application. To take up the scholarship, you must convert your conditional offer to an unconditional offer by 13th July 2025 otherwise your scholarship offer will be transferred to another candidate.

Commonwealth Scholarships

There are four Commonwealth Scholarships available under the cluster ‘Improving Care, Enhancing Outcomes’, which cover full tuition fees. To be eligible candidates should:

  • Be a citizen of or be granted refugee status from an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person
  • Be permanently and continually resident in an eligible Commonwealth country
  • Hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) standard. A lower qualification and sufficient relevant experience may be considered in certain cases
  • Have applied for and already received an offer to start their chosen programme of study in the academic year 2024/25.
