Teaching

You will learn from experts in critical care via recorded lectures and live video tutorials, and you will collaborate with academic staff and fellow students using online discussion boards.

Weekly live tutorials

You will participate in regular live tutorials. Tutors will make themselves available for question and answer sessions to clarify areas of uncertainty. We will record these sessions  for future reference.

Quizzes and tasks

You will also have the opportunity to review classic papers on specific subjects as well as participate in online quizzes. Additionally, tutors will set you tasks for you to complete in your own time.

Virtual intensive care unit

You will also learn what it is like to work collaboratively in a critical care setting using our innovative, 360-degree tour of a critical care ward.

Induction

Prior to the programme starting you will receive introductory information about online learning. This will introduce you to the tools and layouts of the online learning hub. The aim is to reassure you about any concerns about learning online that you may have.

This includes access to University systems:

  • EASE (your University login for accessing systems)
  • Library access
  • Learn (our online learning system)
  • Collaborate (where you can speak with other students on the programme)

Direct Contact

Year Cohort Leads will be your main point of contact for academic support, while the Programme Support Officer is available to answer programme-related technical and administrative enquiries. You will also be assigned a Student Adviser within the University for ongoing support around health and wellbeing. You can contact any of these individuals during standard UK office hours (9am - 5pm). Central IT support is available 24 hours a day.

We will make you aware of a full range of professional student support services available to you.
