Edinburgh Neuroscience has won an award for public engagement.

Congratulations to Dr Jane Haley (Edinburgh Neuroscience Coordinator), who has been awarded the British Neuroscience Association (BNA) award for the Public Understanding of Neuroscience' for 2013.

Previous winners have included Dr Oliver Sacks, Sir Terry Pratchett and last year Radio 4's Claudia Hammond.

Since 2007, Edinburgh Neuroscience has created a broad programme of activities which have directly reached over 4,600 school pupils and 3,600 adults, with online lectures being viewed over 4,400 times.

Edinburgh Neuroscience members also regularly contribute to Science Festivals, reaching an estimated 35,000 people in the processes.

Jane received her award in London at the BNA Christmas symposium on the 16th December 2013.
