Dr. Adriana Tavares has been promoted to a personal Chair of Translational Molecular Imaging from 1 August 2024. Image Adriana Tavares Adriana Tavares leads an internationally competitive programme of PET (positron emission tomography) research, including a major translational award from UKRI, Wellcome Trust award and an Imaging Scientist Award from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (one of only 15 grants awarded worldwide). She also co-led the successful UKRI MRC Total-Body PET bid for setting up a National Total-Body PET facility in Edinburgh. She has demonstrated her value as an innovator, research leader and educator. She continues to lead and organise national and international conferences, is the preclinical lead for the UK PET Network, member of the Global Bioimaging Network and board member of the European Society of Molecular Imaging. She is a dedicated mentor, both within and beyond her group. Congratulations Adriana on securing this professorial role!
