Register now for the 2024 Neuroscience Day to be held on 18 April 2024 We are delighted to announce that Neuroscience Day 2024 is now open for registration. Date: Thursday 18th April 2024 (9am – 6.30pm) Venue: Nucleus Building, King’s Buildings Campus We are excited to try out this new venue, which is a brand-new teaching and meeting complex in the heart of King’s Buildings campus. It has the dual advantage of being free to use for UoE events and having a lecture theatre that can seat up to 400 people – more than a 100 more than the Royal College of Physicians. Registrations Due to switching to this free venue, we have been able to bring down the registration fees from last year. They are now as follows: PI / Group Leader / Lecturer: £50 Postdoc: £25 Technician: £25 Student: £15 Professional services staff: £50 If you would like to register and pay using a personal credit/debit card, please follow this link to use the University’s ePay system. Registrations will close on Thursday 4th April 2024, or earlier if capacity is reached before then. Programme Please find the provisional programme attached at the link below: Document Neuroscience Day 2024 (3.46 MB / DOCX) As ever, we have endeavoured to bring you a mix of talks covering diverse scientific areas, from excellent colleagues across Edinburgh Neuroscience and at different career stages, and a distinguished external keynote speaker. This year, we are delighted to welcome Professor Stephanie Debette from the University of Bordeaux. We have been fortunate to receive very generous sponsorship this year, and as a result are able to reinstate the drinks reception following the keynote lecture. We hope many of you are able to join us for this. Volunteers for the day Neuroscience Day is a large event and we have always been grateful for the generous support of many volunteer helpers. If you are interested in helping us out on the day or in the lead-up to it, please get in touch. Volunteer tasks would include, for example, helping us set up the reception table and poster boards the evening before the event, transferring microphones between delegates as they ask questions from speakers, and taking photos of the day. In addition, the venue management has asked us to nominate two First Aiders for the day. If you are a qualified First Aider and would like to be named as such for the day, please get in touch. We look forward to welcoming you! We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the 18th of April!
