The 4th European Stroke Organisation Conference (ESOC 2018) was held in Gothenburg, Sweden on 16-18 May 2018. Image Our staff looked forward to this year’s ESO Conferences to discuss and disseminate the latest standards and news on stroke management and care. The Edinburgh team were delighted to collect 3 awards including: The Scientific Excellence Award was awarded to Professor Rustam Al-Shahi Salman. The ESO, “Thanks him for his outstanding contribution to the field of stroke with his high impact research. The certificate was given in a spirit of gratitude, friendship, and harmony in all future undertakings.” Dr Mark Rodrigues received an e-poster award for his research on using simple brain imaging in patients with strokes due to bleeding to predict the risk of recurrent bleeds. Dr Gordon Blair also received an e-poster award for his work on complex brain imaging to assess cerebrovascular dysfunction in the LACI 1 trial.
