Our online Light Microscopy course teaches basics plus some advanced techniques of optics, light & fluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy, CCD camera technology, sample optimization & handling, image formation & data handling.

Each course is comprised of modules and activities.

Modules: 

• Introduction to Light Microscopy 
• Brightfield and widefield microscopy 
• Confocal microscopy 
• Samples for light microscopy 
• Camera detectors 
• Advanced light microscopy techniques 
• Image formation 

Teaching starts: 

• Sep / Autumn / Semester 1

Number of credits:

• 10

The above course can be taken as a:

• elective course for the Imaging MSc/Dip/Cert
• stand-alone course gaining university credits
• stand-alone course without university credits for CPD / CME preparation.

The course is divided into several modules that cover the essential topics of basic & some advanced light microscopy.
