The successful candidate will join a vibrant group of translational researchers working at the forefront of imaging technologies.The Opportunity:To provide strategic leadership and operational management of the preclinical MRI facility to maintain its position as a world-leading centreTo provide a state-of-the art in vivo imaging service to all researchers within the University of Edinburgh and external bodiesTo constantly innovate the MRI imaging protocols available to research users of facility To lead on MRI preclinical research studies, grant applications and publicationsTo ensure an efficient and financially sustainable preclinical MRI facility To disseminate information to users (through seminars, lectures EPI website and email bulletins) on EPI across the UniversityThis post is full-time, open-ended (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns.Your skills and attributes for success: Higher university degree (Masters or PhD or equivalent) plus experience in relevant scientific work as MRI biologist or physicistAbility to be able to drive and lead innovate MRI research, publish papers and raise grant funding to support own researchExperience in managing staff with the ability to communicate clearly on technical issues to non-specialist and senior level audiencesWell-developed understanding of funding and financial management procedureDirector of the Preclinical MRI Facility - University of Edinburgh Careers Informal enquiries are welcomed and can be address to Professor Carmel Moran, Carmel.Moran@ed.ac.uk.
