The Scottish Dementia Research Consortium (SDRC) hosted their fifth annual conference on the 7th September 2020.

The conference was brought virtually for the first time in history, & highlighted the world-leading dementia research currently taking place across Scotland.

Professor Joanna Wardlaw was invited to speak at this year’s conference, alongside Dr Graciela Muniz Terrera, Senior Lecturer in Biostatistics & Epidemiology, as both jointly produced the most publications in 2019.

Professor Wardlaw presented her keynote virtual lecture, titled ‘Research in Vascular Dementia 2019-20’.

We asked Professor Joanna Wardlaw her thoughts on winning the award.

"I was very surprised, but pleased, about the award, since it recognised that our research, which focuses on brain blood vessel diseases, is important to dementia."
