We are delighted to hear Dr Una Clancy was awarded Best Rapid Oral Communication for Cognition & Pathophysiology at the recent ESO Conference. Image Dr Una Clancy, Clinical Research Fellow Dr Una Clancy, Clinical Research Fellow in cerebral small vessel diseases (SVD), presented Lothian Birth Cohort 1936 results in oral & poster format at the recent virtual European Stroke Organisation Conference which took place at the beginning of September. The presentation, “White matter hyperintensity progression & neuropsychiatric symptom course in older adults in the Lothian Birth Cohort 1936”, won the Best Rapid Oral Communication Award at the Cognition & Pathophysiology section of the conference. These data, which come from LBC1936 waves 2-4 MR scans & questionnaires, looked at how subtle brain changes on MR & mood symptoms could be inter-related over a six-year timeframe. This may help the team to predict which individuals are most likely to develop brain changes over time.
