Checks prior to your MRI examination

MRI scanning is not suitable for everyone.

These checks can also be used prior to having a PET-MRI scan. 

For safety reasons, it is often NOT possible to have an MRI examination if you have:

  • A heart pacemaker
  • Surgical clips within your head
  • Programmable shunts
  • Inner ear implants
  • Metal fragments within your eye or head
  • Neuro electrical stimulators
