The Postdoc Appreciation Week (PAW) took place from 21st – 25th September 2020, this year.
Throughout the lead up to this week, CMVM postdoc societies were encouraging UoE members to nominate any postdocs who they thought were outstanding & deserved to be celebrated.
The 3 categories of postdoc awards were: Public Engagement, Research Supervision & Citizenship.
The winners were announced on Friday 25th September 2020, & out of 15 other contenders, Dr Michael Stringer won the BioQuarter Research Supervision award.
We asked Dr Stringer his thoughts on being nominated & winning the award.
"I am very grateful to the students who nominated me.
I have been incredibly lucky to work with remarkably able students, & to be able to rely on the guidance of Professor Joanna Wardlaw & Dr Michael Thrippleton - this is as much recognition of their efforts as anything"
