25 Sep 20. BioQuarter Postdoc Appreciation award

Congratulations to Dr Michael Stringer, Medical Physics Research Fellow, who was awarded the BioQuarter Postdoc Appreciation Week award for Research Supervision.

The Postdoc Appreciation Week (PAW) took place from 21st – 25th September 2020, this year.

Throughout the lead up to this week,  CMVM postdoc societies were encouraging UoE members to nominate any postdocs who they thought were outstanding & deserved to be celebrated.

The 3 categories of postdoc awards were: Public Engagement, Research Supervision & Citizenship.

 The winners were announced on Friday 25th September 2020, & out of 15 other contenders, Dr Michael Stringer won the BioQuarter Research Supervision award.

 

We asked Dr Stringer his thoughts on being nominated & winning the award.

"I am very grateful to the students who nominated me.

I have been incredibly lucky to work with remarkably able students, & to be able to rely on the guidance of Professor Joanna Wardlaw & Dr Michael Thrippleton - this is as much recognition of their efforts as anything"
