Image Professor Carmel Moran CVS's Carmel Moran has won the 2023 Spiers' Award for Outreach, given by the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM), and will receive it at an awards ceremony later this year.Carmel wins the award for her outstanding work on Imaging Inside Out: a schools engagement programme she developed to give secondary-school pupils an opportunity to learn more about the use of ultrasound in medicine, to try their hand at ultrasound scanning, and to discuss their views on the use of animals in research.
