A Clinical Physiologist, joins the Edinburgh Fondation Leducq team. Welcome to Dr Lizzie Hill who recently joined the Centre for Clinical Brain Science (CCBS) as a Sleep Research Fellow. Main research Dr Lizzie Hill is working on a study investigating small vessel disease in adults with obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) in collaboration with Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, part of the Fondation Leducq Transatlantic Network of Excellence led by Prof Joanna Wardlaw. Participants will undergo MRI scanning at Edinburgh Imaging Facility RIE to assess small vessel disease before and after 4 months of continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy for OSA, along with measures of cognitive function and sleep. I’m delighted to join Joanna and the team working on this exciting project. This is my first foray into neuroimaging, with my experience to date being in sleep medicine, but I’m really looking forward to the challenge ahead!
