Well done to Edinburgh for winning the SINAPSE Image of the Year 2017 prize. We are delighted that the Edinburgh SCOT-HEART trial team have been awarded the SINAPSE Image of the Year 2017 prize. Well done to the winners, with the image submitted by Dr Michelle Williams and Prof David Newby . This striking image shows a three dimensional reconstruction of a computed tomography (CT) coronary angiogram performed as part of the SCOT-HEART trial, taken at the Edinburgh Imaging Facility QMRI. Image SINAPSE Image of the Year 2017 Findings from the SCOT-HEART trial were published in The Lancet, leading to the clinical application of cardiac CT in chest pain and an update of the relevant NICE guidelines. It's been a very successful year for the study team from the University of Edinburgh and NHS Lothian, as they were also honoured as winner of 'Imaging Team of the Year' at The BMJ Awards 2017 earlier this year.
