Image Dr Una Clancy, CSO Clinical Research Fellow Every year the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (RCPE) awards a UK resident physician with the Sir John Halliday Croom Prize. As part of the prize, the awardee is invited to present a lecture at the annual RCPE Medical Trainee Conference. This year, the 47th RCPE Sir John Halliday Croom Prize was awarded to Dr Una Clancy, CSO Clinical Research Fellow in Cerebral Small Vessel Diseases with Professor Joanna Wardlaw’s SVD Research Group. Una will be presenting a lecture to over 400 attendees about under-recognised clinical features of cerebral small vessel disease from her PhD & the Mild Stroke Study 3 project, funded by: UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI) Fondation-Leducq Chief Scientist Office (CSO) Stroke Association The Row Fogo Centre for Research into Aging and the Brain British Heart Foundation Centre for Research Excellence 3 (REA-3) The Medical Trainees Online Symposium is taking place 22 January 2021, and the title of Una’s talk is “Cerebral small vessel disease: More than just an incidental finding?”. We asked Dr Una Clancy her thoughts regarding the award.
