Several Edinburgh Imaging Academy tutors have been nominated for the Edinburgh University Students’ Association teaching awards! The Edinburgh University Students’ Association (EUSA) hosts the Teaching Awards annually, to allow students the opportunity to thank their tutors and lecturers and celebrate teaching at the University of Edinburgh. Out of 2,680 nominations submitted, four were Edinburgh Imaging Academy tutors: Dr Francesca Chappell for Student Tutor of the Year Dr Maria Valdes Hernandez for Student Tutor of the Year Dr Joana Leitão for Student Tutor of the Year Professor Andrew Farrall for Outstanding Course Dr Francesca Chappell Dr Chappell is a Senior Medical Statistician at the Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences and lead tutor for the Edinburgh Imaging Academy Statistics course. Dr Maria Valdes Hernandez Dr Hernandez is a Row Fogo Lecturer in Medical Image Analysis at the Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences and lead tutor for the Edinburgh Imaging Academy Medical Image Analysis courses. Dr Joana Leitão Dr Leitão is a Research Associate in fMRI at the Edinburgh Imaging Facilities and is tutoring with the Edinburgh Imaging Academy for the first time this year. Professor Andrew Farrall Professor Farrall is Honorary Professor of Neuroimaging & Education, and a Consultant Neuroradiologist in the NHS. Professor Farrall is the programme director for the Edinburgh Imaging Academy and lead tutor for the Techniques and physics course. The nominating student wrote: “Extremely dedicated tutor. The course allowed one to develop one's debate writing skills in the course whilst actually studying physics. An innovative way of developing skills and assessing it in the end of course assessment.
